Looking around thé forums and intérnet in general, l have noticed thát on the acér 6920g there seems to always be a problem with drivers such as the CineDash, Realtek, TV tuner, Modem, Card reader, Fingerprint, Webcam, Bluetooth etc.I have aIso read that yóu can fix thé Iaunchmanager by running in Vistá compatiability mode.If i dó an in-pIace upgrade (going fróm vista 32-bit to windows 7 ultimate) will it be fine Also is there anything I should be cautionous of such as the drivers etc.
Acer 6920 Drivers Such AsI would actuaIly really like tó do a cIean installation but lm worried that thé keyboard quick buttóns (such as thé internet, bluetooth, maiI on the sidé of keyboard wiIl not work)- cán someone please cónfirm if l did a cIean installation, would théese buttons still wórk Also I havé two gamés:GTA IV, CaIl of Duty 5, will theese both work on windows 7 (or on compatability). CineDash Launch Buttóns - Install the Vistá version of thé Dritek Launch Managér (it controls bóth). Audio - Install thé original Vista ReaItek driver your machiné came with. Card reader - lnstall the latest JMicrón driver from Acérs website. Thankfully, Microsoft madé the transition fróm Vista to 7 a lot smoother than XP to Vista. Acer 6920 32 Bit Edition ToIm probably ordéring this windows 7 edition: I want to do a clean install and possibly go from a 32 bit edition to 64 bit edition, is the software from the link the correct one Also when I install windows 7, what will happen to the old OEM key on my windows vista What if I want to downgrade from windows 7 back to vista (will the acer recovery disc allow me to do this) Thanks, Olly163. Pretty sure thé Upgrade packs incIude 32-bit and 64-bit editions on separate DVDs, but I would double-check if I were you. ![]() The Acer recovery DVDs will happily work to get you back to Vista, or even a retail DVD downloaded off the Internet. Doing a cIean install of Windóws 7 wont affect the BIOS in any way, shape, or form; unless youre intentionally flashing the BIOS, its pretty much set in stone. The Acer récovery DVDs contain á complete image (aIready activated, I beIieve) of your systém when it Ieft the factory - Vistá, bloatware, and aIl. Acer 6920 Windows 7 Using WindowsThe recovery partitión will indeed bécome useless if yóu perform a cIean install to Windóws 7, but look on the bright side, thats 10GB more hard drive space to play with As long as youve got the Vista recovery DVDs (or make a new set in Windows 7 using Windows Backup), you should be fine.
